My teenage kids have had blogs for years. Of course that is not what they were called a few years ago and who knows if teens call them blogs now. My daughter started posting on a site called xanga and live journal. Of course now she and my teenage son both have a Myspace site, along with every other teenager around. What I like about these sites is that I can randomly go to them and check out what they are up to. I can see who they are talking to, who they have been hanging with just by looking at the posts. It amazed me at first how complete strangers were asking to be put on their "friends" list. My son has his page set as friends only, so to view it you have to be added by him to his list. I do not have a myspace, I know parents have them to keep an eye on their children, I rely on my daughter to show me what my son's site says and at the age of 14 it isn't much. If I got a myspace and asked him to put me on his friends list and did not tell him hey it's me MOM....would this be an invasion of his privacy? Or does he not get that since he is a minor and living under his parents rules?
